Gustav Klimt is best known for his decorative art, or at least his decorative style of painting which in the manner of Byzantine art used gold and semi-precious gems for ornamentation. Stamperia’s Klimt collection is perfect for this project. Each student will receive the 6x6 collection pack as part of the class (10 double-sided papers). This size is just perfect for creating the little vignettes that make up the composition of your artwork.
You will be working on a 11 x 14 cradled panel that you design with a grid motif. Each of these sections will be decorated to create areas of interest. Using, paper, Ink, Paint, stencils, gold leafing, embellishments and other mediums your panel will come to life in the style of Gustave Klimt. Stamperia’s exquisite paper collection will inspire you so, come spend the day with Patti, she will share with you many techniques that will enhance your artwork. All your adhesives, paper, gold leafing, and paints are included. Some embellishments will be provided as well. However, we encourage you to raid your stash and bring some jewels, some bling, and some baubles to embellish your artwork. Based on the response we received from the Klimt cigar box workshop, we feel that this might be another popular workshop so, sign up early as this class will only be offered this one time. Class size is limited to 12.
Students should bring the following:
Supply List: Self-healing cutting mat, x-acto knife and sharp scissors. A nonstick craft sheet, a paper trimmer that will accommodate at least 12" paper, a ruler with a metal edge and an ink blending tool with foam. We carry the supplies and tools for this workshop if you need anything and we do have a few to share. Embellishments to decorate and personalize your artwork.
