A Queen’s Ink Mixed Media Retreat with Patti Euler and Seth Apter

Here are the details:
Our two and a half days will be spent creating a unique, custom designed box and handmade book. The box and the book will be covered in handmade Gelli printed papers. The wooden box measures 6x8 has three drawers and a recessed top where you can store the book you create in the workshop. The substrate will be provided and is designed exclusively for this event.
Seth and Patti will be co-teaching and have collaborated on this project so you can expect some grungy, painty, rusty, and gilded, mixed media mischief! Surface design on the box will be Patti's focus and Seth’s focus will be sharing and demonstrating the construction and assembly of the book and pages. The Thursdaay afternoon session will be spent entirely on creating papers for your box and book. Seth and Patti will guide you in a myriad of Gelli printing techniques. We have a special Guest artist, Terry Quinn who will share her Gelli print expertise and her creative paper play exercises as well. An 8 x 10 Gel Plate and Brayer is included in the cost of the workshop.

Maritime Conference Center is located in Linthicum Heights, Maryland, just 4 miles (about 10 minutes from the BWI Baltimore Washington International Thurgood Marshall Airport) and a short drive from Baltimore, Annapolis, and Washington DC. The Conference Center offers free shuttle service from the BWI Airport.
Cost: $675.00 per person and Includes 2 ½ days of workshops, an afternoon snack on Thursday, lunch and snacks on Friday and Saturday. The box, Gelli Plate,Brayer and blank paper along with some other shared materials will be provided by Seth and Patti. A complete student supply list will be provided in September.
On Thursday the workshop starts promptly at 12:30 and will go to 5:30.
Plan to arrive early so you have time to bring in your materials. The classroom will open at 11:45 Thursday morning. No access will be granted prior to that time.
Friday the workshop will start at 9:00 a.m. and go on until 5:30. Saturday's session will start at 9:00 a.m. and finish up around 4:00
Optional: Thursday and Friday evenings the conference room will be open from 6:30 - 9:00 in the evening.

Air Travel: BWI Baltimore Washington International Thurgood Marshall Airport is the closest airport. The conference enter offers free shuttle service to and from the airport. The Maritime Conference Center offers All-Inclusive Guest Room Packages which includes both breakfast and Dinner served in the dining room. Wi-Fi and access to the business center.

Event Cancellation Policy: Planning and organizing events require meticulous attention to detail and a significant amount of preparation. We acknowledge that unforeseen circumstances can arise, and we are here to support you through any changes. If you find yourself needing to cancel your registration before September 6, 2025 a refund, minus a processing fee of $100, will be promptly processed. Please note that after September 6, 2025 refunds will not be issued; however, you have the option to transfer your registration
