Time: 10:30am - 5:30pm
Instructor: Terri Quinn
Class Fee: $115
Description: This artful “jam” session is the perfect for Gelli Plate enthusiasts, the novice, as well as artists looking to try something new. Terry has designed a full day of fun, exploration, and experimentation. This workshop has you exploring new ways to use acrylic paints, stencils, and a variety of mark making tools, all while experimenting with lots of different papers and surfaces. You will be amazed at how beautiful your prints come together to create a colorful journal ready to capture collage images, quotes, inspiring words, and your treasured ephemera. The end result is a three-signature pamphlet stitched journal, ready to use!
Terry has created a special zine full of tips and techniques that mirror what is taught in her workshop for later reference, allowing you to recreate the journal on your own. You won’t want to make just one.
Each student will receive a journal jumpstart kit filled with various papers, collage elements, a page of inspirational words and quotes, washi tape, wax linen, and a needle to sew it all together. You will leave with a finished sewn journal 4¼" x 5½" and depending on how fast you work, two to three pages collaged.
Remember your newly sewn journal is a WIP (work in progress)
