Don’t you love the idea of taking something someone once collected, cuddled or cherished and re-imagining it into something you adore? It only takes that forgotten doll that sits inside an old chest, with the missing arm and paint cracks, to whisper something to you ... and before she knows it, she’s been crowned QUEEN!

Join Dee Gray to create a charming assemblage that includes a vintage doll and antique embellishments, to be showcased within a wooden box.

You will learn techniques that include painting, distressing, stenciling and assemblage. Adding embellishments such as brass or small lovelies along the way will further enhance your project. You may adorn your doll with vintage fabric and lace or simply let it sport their birthday suit. By day’s end, you’ll bring your treasured doll back to life in a new form, and add your own unique touches to make it an original object of art worthy of display.

Prior to this workshop, have fun thrifting for a small vintage doll at your local flea market, yard sale, antique store, Ebay or Etsy shop. Search for Frozen Charlotte, Articulated Bisque or Penny Dolls – whatever calls out to you. Your doll’s height should range in size from 1 1/2 inches to 3 1/2 inches. As an option, you may shop amongst Dee’s private collection of dolls the day of workshop.*

Show up a bit early if you plan to shop and purchase a doll, the workshop will begin promptly at 10 am.
