"Namaste" by Scott A. Cooper
Celebrating the divine spark in each of us, this handcrafted Hamsa sits on two gorgeous hand painted tiles and is imbedded with the Vitruvian Man. The Vitruvian Man represents a divine connection between the human form and the universe. These tiles are attached to a textured metal substrate that measures 5 ¼ inches by 8 inches and is designed to hang on your wall.
~Scott, a former CPA and finance executive is a self- taught, now full-time mixed media artist. His art studio is located on Cape Cod and he specializes in mixed-media themed mosaics. Scott primarily uses polymer clay to create one of a kind handmade tiles that incorporate unique materials including glass, cloth, shells, jewelry, beads, pictures and special mementos. Polymer clay is an exceptional medium that can hold incredibly fine details, textures and colors.
Each tile starts with a slab of polymer clay, which is then textured and molded. Painting techniques are applied for vibrant colors and contrasts. Mosaic compositions are created by using a number of tiles placed on a variety of substrates. These tiles can be personalized with names, dates, pictures, colors and phrases and can be made for Weddings, Bar Mitzvah’s, Birthdays, Anniversaries or any other special event or occasion.
Scott is a member of the New England Polymer Artist Guild and is on the Board of Trustees of the International Polymer Clay Association.
