EVENT: Sherry Kirn Memorial Art Party

Manneqart Art and The Queens Ink will be hosting a special memorial fund raising event in honor of Sherry Kirn. Last year our art community lost a bright light, and we are taking the time to celebrate Sherry and her generous time and support to both of our organizations.
We will be hosting an art party in Sherry’s honor. One of her wishes was that her art supplies and materials be donated to Manneqart. Manneqart was one of Sherry’s passions. She was a dedicated volunteer and artist and she created many very creative entries since the start of this amazing event. Sherry was a long-time supporter of The Queen’s Ink and a true patron of the arts. She and I entered this competition in 2013, and she continued to create her amazing “Sulptures on the Human Form for many years. Both by submitting her art work and her tireless volunteering wherever she could help.
Sherry was well liked and certainly well loved. She was always reaching out to friends and neighbors offering help and support whenever she could. Her neighbors loved her and her friends adored her young and old! There was always laughter when Sherry was around and she could tell a story that would make you laugh no matter how many times you heard it. We are still retelling her stories. Sherry’s generous spirit wasn’t reserved just for people. She had an enormous soft spot for animals̶ all critters, really. Her garden became something of a neighborhood sanctuary, where foxes, possums, and feral cats knew they could find a meal and a little kindness. She cared especially for the feral cats in her area, making sure they were spayed, or neutered and even providing little shelters with blankets to keep them warm through the winter. If a creature needed looking after, Sherry was there.
So this event will be a party to celebrate her love of art, creativity, family, community and friendship. The project for the evening art party will be creating Artist Trading cards and/or greeting cards. All materials will be provided. So just come with a happy attitude and the desire to spend an evening celebrating and sharing stories of someone very special.

Donation: $20. Art supply goodie bags will be given out to the first 25 people to attend.
All proceeds will be donated to Manneqart so they can continue their mission. ManneqArt is an international arts and education non profit that inspires creativity, teaches problem solving skills, and rewards excellence in Sculpture on the human form.
