Fearless Art Journal
January 15th [Sunday] / 11:00 - 6:00
Instructor: Laura Hummel
Class fee: $75.00

Create a one of a kind art book using a variety of papers, paints, and fabric pieces. Pages will vary in size and contain pockets, tabs, fabric scraps, trims, laces, stitched borders, and sequins. Let your imagination run wild as you add paint, fold, and add a variety of papers and fabric.. Bring any painted or printed paper from your stash. You will make a cover with handmade papers and/or fabric. I used an old tie for my binding on my small book and a postcard on the front cover. Signatures will be attached with the sewing machine. You can add embellishments to the outside of the book which will then be covered with a layer of gel that gives an amazing look and texture to your art journal. The two samples on display measure 4.5 by 6 and 6 by 9 inches. You will want your own sewing machine, or pair up with a friend. This class is most suitable for intermediate or advanced level, and you should be familiar with your sewing machine. I have a small Brother which is easy to use and transport.
