Description: Welcome to the first mono printing mixed media art workshop with Kellee Wynne featuring the Gelli Arts Printing Plate. Learn the magic that is mono printing along with other inspiring mixed media techniques. In this exciting new class, we will explore ways to incorporate the wonder of the fall season in to our mixed media artwork by using leaves, found objects and stencils to make beautiful layers of paint with the printing plate. Learn how to combine and mix colors to create natural looking textures that mimic what you see when on a “Nature Walk.”
Arrive early and take a real Nature Walk along the Little Patuxent River. Join Kellee at 11:00 am and collect your own natural elements to get in the spirit of the workshop! The Classroom portion will start at 12:00. Bring a brown bag lunch or snack as as there will only be a short
15 – 20 minutes break.
Student Supply list: Gelli Printing Plate and brayer.
A variety of Papers: such as Inexpensive drawing paper, printer paper, cardstock, deli paper, scrap papers, watercolor paper - bring a lot so we can play!
Acrylic paints in *transparent* earthy colors (any fluid or soft body paint such a deco Art or Golden) suggested colors: yellow ochre, azo gold, burnt sienna, violet oxide, Indian yellow, burnt umber, orange, Payne’s grey, green-gold, sap green, titan buff, white, black, etc...and teal!
A couple iridescent paints in gold, copper, bronze, etc...
Fluid Gesso like Liquitex Professional Gesso
Your favorite stencils and texture making supplies (plenty will be available to share)
Leaves (green and soft, not dry) and natural elements collected for printing. Get creative, what would be interesting to you? Let's try it out!
Provided by Queen's Ink - half sheet of Stonehenge Paper in white, several sheets of deli paper, 110 lb. cover stock, and dictionary or text paper will be included. We also have some DecoArts fluid acrylics to share as well.
