“Queen Bee” is a Mixed Media Techniques workshop….and More! Creative PaperClay is a wonderful medium for sculpting and is the focus in this workshop. Whether you are a novice or desire to improve your sculpting skills, Lynn will guide you through the sculpting and design process. This multi medium class will also include some needle felting techniques, more surface techniques and discussion on design composition. All geared to helping you create a one-of-a-kind art piece.
You will leave the class with a sculpted face and a clear understanding of felting the hair and painting techniques for the face and your vignette box. Lynn will also teach you tips n attaching your sculpture with epoxy and adding ephemera. It is possible that given the time constraints and the many components of this workshop some of you may not finish assembling the entire project. If that is the case, Lynn will make sure you have everything you need and an understanding of how to finish your artwork at home This workshop is more about techniques, and a complete understanding of the individual components. and learning how to pull it all together to create an expressive piece you will enjoy.

Lynn will also bring the following tools for you to use/share in class.
They are listed below for your information in case you choose to purchase
your own but it’s not necessary. We will have them available at the Queen’s Ink should you decide you want your own set.
Kemper Brand, blue rubber nib clay tools.
Clay shaper set size 0. This is an inexpensive set of tools specifically for clay. The set has 5 tools in it.
Scalpel. Medical grade Steri-sharp small scalpel with a straight blade. X-acto knives are awesome but don’t have as thin of a blade. A scalpel works better.
These are usually found on medical supply sites.
Satin Varnish and Epoxy.
Stamps for background on your box.
Jewelry and other ephemera for embellishments.
Wool Roving, ( this isn’t yarn, it is actually wool fibers). Bring your own if you want specific colors. This is for the Beehive hair.
Needle felting tool and a foam block for use with the needle tool. We will have a few of these tools for sale.
